Research Interests

Research in the Deschler group explores the photophysics and recombination dynamics of electronic states in novel semiconductor materials.

We currently focus on how structure and composition control the photophysics of highly luminescent thin film and nanostructure semiconductors, with the ultimate goal to enable high-performance optoelectronic applications.

Through time-resolved laser spectroscopy, we explore the dynamics of photoexcited states, also in operating optoelectronic devices, which gives unique insights on the processes controlling material and device performance.
